Project Description

Beuys Square
The square is dedicated to German artist Joseph Beuys, who designed Sacro Bosco for Gibellina, a wood with three hundred oaks to grow in the area where once shanty houses were. Today the square hosts the sculpture “Lo spazio della parola” by Marco Nereo Rotelli (1996): fragments of the poetry of Yves Bonnefoy, Younis Taefik, Mario Luzi and Edoardo Sanguineti are written on four mosaic panels on the square’s walls. On the other side a work by Bruno Ceccobelli (2004) “L’eternità è la vera medicina”.
